Standard Rates:

One Picture Hanging Specialist:  first hour + fittings & travel $129** +gst 

One Picture Hanging Specialist:  subsequent hour (or part there of) + fittings & travel  $129** +gst

Two Picture Hanging Specialists:  per hour + fittings & travel  $199** +gst

Three Picture Hanging Specialists:  per hour + fittings & travel  $279** + gst

 

Travel Rates:

Standard travel rate $1.99 per kilometre, round trip, for one picture hanger (from Ladies Mile, Ellerslie, Auckland).

Standard travel rate $2.49 per kilometre, round trip, for two picture hangers (from Ladies Mile, Ellerslie, Auckland).

Hourly rate(s) will apply if travel to location exceeds one hour (1 man $129, 2 men $199).

Please Note:
* Minimum charge $129+gst

(applicable for jobs up to one hour).

CBD Surcharges:
Due to the current maelstrom of road works that is The Auckland CBD, significant time & effort is involved in finding available parking within 100mtrs of inner city appointments. In light of this, A CBD surcharge of $49+gst will apply when parking cannot be provided within a feasable walking distance.

After Hours Rates:

One Picture Hanging Specialist:     $199 + gst per hour + fittings & travel.

Two Picture Hanging Specialists:    $399 + gst per hour + fittings & travel.

Factors that Affect Pricing:

Pricing one job compared to another is sometimes not straight-forward,

nor is it a "one-size-fits-all" equation. Differences between items, for example; the size,

weight, location, or awkwardness, can all play a role in the work involved.

To help with better understanding these factors, we have laid out below, the basic criteria that will

need to be considered when estimating the value of any hanging job.

These criteria can be loosely separated into two categories: 

1. Physical Difficulty

2. Mechanical Complexity 

1. Levels of Physical Difficulty

1. Easy

2. Average

3. Difficult

4. Dangerous

In simple terms, an item's 'difficulty-factor' is defined by, but not limited to,

its physicality, and or its desired location. For example:

An item's Weight. Size. Hight. etc.

The larger, or heavier, or higher, the item, then greater the difficulty-factor.

The difficulty-factor is always compounded when an item has any two

or more of these physical factors present. 

2. Levels of Mechanical Complexity

1. Easy

2. Medium

3. Difficult

4. Highly complex

An item's level of 'complexity', can be defined by the methods that are required to attach said item

to the wall safely, and with minimum 'negative impact' to the item and or the wall itself.

For example: 

The 'Methodology' for hanging a bowling ball would be considered difficult, because it's heavy.

A Hollow gib wall for example, increases the difficulty of hanging the weight of said bowling ball. 

The fittings to hang a bowling ball need to be;

1. strong,

2. small and...

3. ideally, unseen.

This increases the complexity of the job.

And it's complexity is compounded with the combined factor of each of those items numbered above.

To resolve this, or any complex challenge, one will be required to involve, at least one of the following options:

1. Going out into the world of fixtures, fixings, fittings, attachments, & finding some 'thing' or some 'method'

by which to adapt, amend or 'appropriate' said fixtures, in a way that is most expedient for the task.

2. Design a fitting, fixture or bracket specific for the intended purpose, then get said design fabricated.

This is of course time consuming, and expensive. But sometimes, necessary.

In conclusion, the hanging of various items, is as varied and unknown as there are artworks to be hung.

This inevitably translates into pricing and therefore, based on the above explanation...

one size does not fit all.
